Man City’s plan to trigger Mohammed Kudus release clause revealed
Man City could trigger Mohammed Kudus’ West Ham release clause, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed there is set to be “lots of interest” surrounding the 24-year-old.
Kudus has an £85million release clause in his deal at the London Stadium which is set to become active in the summer, which means there is more potential that he could move then.
The Hammers value the Ghana international around the £100million mark, which means it would take a mammoth bid to prize him away during the January transfer window.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that it’s extremely unlikely a move would take place in January, but the likes of City and Arsenal could look to revisit the situation in the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola is looking to enhance his squad in January after a difficult start to the season which has seen the club struggle for consistency.
Man City will face competition to sign Mohammed Kudus
Kudus has caught people’s attention this season due to his personal performances, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 16 games in what has been a tough season for the Irons.
That is why City are set to face competition to try to sign him as Arsenal are also monitoring his progress in their bid to strengthen the attacking options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.

City are currently sixth in the Premier League table after 19 games, having only managed to win nine of them.
Guardiola’s side will be back in action on Saturday (4 January) when they host West Ham, giving fans the chance to see Kudus up close.
