Man United ace Bruno Fernandes sends message to Paul Pogba after development

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has taken to social media to send a message of support to former teammate Paul Pogba.

Pogba, 31, became a free agent on Friday (November 15) after he and his former club Juventus reached a mutual agreement for the termination of his contract.

The World Cup winner rejoined the Italian giants following his release from Man United in 2022 but made just eight Serie A appearances in an injury-ravaged first season.

Not long after, he was handed a four-year doping ban by NADO Italia, in September 2023 after testing positive for DHEA, a banned substance that raises levels of testosterone.

That ban has since been reduced to 18 months by CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) and Pogba will be able to return to training in January and play from March 2025.

Fernades, 30, spent three years at Old Trafford with Pogba but were unable to win any silverware together in the club’s tumultuous post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Despite their lack of success on the pitch, they clearly created a bond off it, with Fernandes taking to Instagram to send a message of support.

Fernandes will no doubt be a key figure for new Man United manager Ruben Amorim as they hope to put their dismal start to the season behind them.

They will have to wait until after the international break for the new era to properly begin, however, as they prepare to face newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
