Man United ace Bruno Fernandes trolls Bernardo Silva with three-word message

Man United captain has taken to social media to poke some fun at Portugal teammate Bernardo Silva with a cheeky message.

Both Fernandes, 30, and Silva, 30, are away on international duty as Portugal prepare for their UEFA Nations League games against Poland and Croatia.

The two recently received awards for their contribution to Portuguese football at the Quinas de Ouro gala, an annual ceremony that recognises players and coaches from the men’s and women’s game, plus the worlds of beach football and futsal.

Though they rose through different clubs in Portugal—Fernandes at Sporting and Silva at Benfica—the two midfielders share a long history, having debuted together for their country’s Under-19s back in 2012.

Man United star Bruno Fernandes teases Man City rival Bernardo Silva

Fernandes has had an outstanding week, scoring twice in United’s dominant 3-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City and picking up an individual award in his home country.

On the other hand, Silva has had a less than stellar time for his club, with Man City losing four consecutive games across all competitions for the first time under Pep Guardiola.

The two midfielders were able to put their club allegiances to one side and have some fun on the training ground, with Fernandes poking fun and Silva’s basketball skills on Instagram.

Translated from Portuguese, Fernandes calls Silva “Our Steph Curry”, in reference to the famous Golden State Warriors star.

Things will no doubt feel a bit more like home for Fernandes when he returns to Carrington with Man United’s Portuguese revolution in full swing after the appointment of Ruben Amorim.
