Man United and Man City stars react to Nelson Semedo after Wolves exit news

Nelson Semedo gained the attention of several Premier League stars as speculation swirls around the star’s future at Wolves.

The 31-year-old full-back experienced another brilliant season at Molineux Stadium, recording five assists in 37 appearances, but his current deal is set to expire at the end of June despite an offer on the table.

Football Insider understands that Turkish giants Galatasaray are pushing to sign Semedo on a free transfer, leaving Vitor Pereira extremely disappointed for the summer transfer window.

Matters could get even worse following the news that Rayan Ait Nouri is on Man City’s radar ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with more departures likely to come for Pereira’s team at the Molineux.

Nelson Semedo gears up for uncertain summer

Taking to Instagram (1 June), Semedo shared images as he arrived for the Portugal training camp, simply captioned by the Portugal flag, and earning likes from several Premier League stars.

Man City’s Ruben Dias and Man United’s Bruno Fernandes both liked the post, as did Pedro Neto, PSG’s Nuno Mendes, while his teammate Joao Gomes commented: “What a player”.

Vitor Pereira already facing difficult season at Wolves

Football Insider verdict

Ait Nouri’s future is not the only concern for Wolves this summer, with Matheus Cunha already becoming a Man United player after playing a huge role in keeping the club in the Premier League.

The Brazilian notched 17 goals and six assists in 36 appearances, but having lost him so early in the transfer window, there is plenty of time for Pereira to rebuild ahead of next season.

Signing Jorgen Strand Larsen on a permanent deal would certainly help soften the blow of Cunha’s exit, and so too would keeping the likes of Gomes, Hwang Hee-chan, and Sam Johnstone.

Football Insider also understands that Wolves are set for showdown talks with Pereira over a new deal at the Molineux Stadium as his current contract expires next summer.

The 56-year-old has done a brilliant job during his first season in England, avoiding defeat in 60 per cent of his matches, and absolutely deserves an updated deal after keeping the club in the Premier League.

Losing several stars already is a massive blow to Wolves’ survival hopes for next season, but if they can reinvest any transfer fees, it could be an exciting 2025/26 campaign.
