Man United and PSG stars react to Nelson Semedo’s ‘big decision’ at Wolves

Nelson Semedo captured the attention of Man United and PSG stars while dropping a hint on social media about his future at Wolves.

The 31-year-old has been a mainstay in the squad over the last five seasons, adding another five assists this season to his total record of three goals and 10 assists since arriving from Barcelona in 2020.

Having played a key role in the club’s survival in the Premier League this term, Express and Star reported (22 May) that there is a four-year contract on the table, but the full-back is assessing his options.

Football Insider understands that Wolves are preparing for showdown talks with Vitor Pereira over a potential new deal, with multiple figures needing to make decisions on their futures at Molineux Stadium.

Semedo, however, appears to have publicly addressed the rumours circling about his future.

Nelson Semedo admits uncertainty over Wolves future

Taking to Instagram (26 May), Semedo wrote: “Just want to thank you for all the support yesterday, and for all your support during the season.

“It was a season of highs and lows, tough periods and great moments as well, and that wouldn’t be possible without you guys supporting us during the year.

“We accomplished the main objective for this season, but we have to set our ambitions as a club and go fight for them because, trust me, all together we can do it. Time to rest, think, and make a big decision with my family. I love you.”

Teammates Marshall Munetsi, Santiago Bueno, and Yerson Mosquera all liked the post, joined by PSG’s Nuno Mendes, Man United‘s Diogo Dalot, and Aston Villa‘s Lucas Digne.

Vitor Pereira to rebuild ahead of 2025/26 campaign

Football Insider verdict

Despite a successful first 25 matches in charge at Molineux Stadium, Pereira could end up losing multiple key players during the summer before the 2025/26 campaign kicks off.

With that in mind, Football Insider understands that Pereira wants to be heavily backed by Wolves’ board during the transfer window, with the 56-year-old wary of another relegation battle.

Matheus Cunha is expected to depart Wolves on a big-money deal, possibly followed by Semedo, Rayan Ait Nouri, Joao Gomes, and Andre out the exit doors.

Losing any of those stars would be a huge blow for the relegation-threatened side, but with multiple players putting pen to paper on new contracts, the money involved could save the club.

Funds from any of these deals could go a long way to helping Pereira rebuild the squad this summer, and with Cunha possibly joining a top European club, his inevitable exit could see multiple players signed.
