‘Man United are not going to renegotiate Bruno Fernandes’ contract’ amid £500,000-a-wk claim

Bruno Fernandes has a decision to make on his Manchester United future after being offered a lucrative deal to leave the club this summer.

The Portugal international has been the standout performer for Man United this season, having registered 19 goals and 19 assists in 54 appearances.

Fernandes has now emerged as the number-one target for Al-Hilal after they missed out on a deal for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

The Mail reported on 6 May the 30-year-old, who is under contract until 2027, has been offered a mega-money deal to join the Saudi Pro League club this summer.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider United are unlikely to offer Fernandes a new contract to match the deal he has on the table from Al-Hilal.

Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, but they will qualify for the Champions League if they beat Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Man United could agree Alejandro Garnacho deal

Borson insisted United are more likely to sell Alejandro Garnacho than Fernandes this summer.

He told Football Insider: “I don’t think they’re going to renegotiate Fernandes’s contract.

“They won’t be able to match it. First of all, the numbers in Saudi are generally not true in terms of what’s speculated in the newspapers.

“But by the time you double up the wage and then double up the tax, because they’re not paying the near 50 per cent that they’re paying in the UK, you’re talking about a multiple of three to four times what they’re currently paid, so the wage difference is big, and you can’t really compete.

“They are not going to pay him £500,000 a week, for example. It doesn’t become a conversation about that. I think that the thing for United is if they were to not get Champions League.

“If they were to not win the Europa League and Spurs were to get the place in the Champions League, the question then will be whether they decide that in exchange for missing out on the Champions League that the money that they need to do that next phase of the redevelopment of the squad can be got from selling Fernandes or somebody else.

“I guess Garnacho is the most likely of those sorts of players, and then you’ve got the question of whether Rashford is going to go to Villa or somebody else.

“Those are all deals that will make a difference.”

Man United make Antony U-turn decision

Football Insider revealed on 6 May Antony won’t be given another chance at United despite impressing on loan at Real Betis.

The 25-year-old winger has regained his form since joining the La Liga side in January, having registered eight goals and five assists in 22 appearances.

However, United have decided to move on from the Brazil international and will cash in on him this summer.
