Man United bombshell: ‘Marcus Rashford transfer to cost £100m’
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford would likely cost any interested parties around £100million for his transfer fee and wage demands.
That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider there are only a handful of clubs who could afford a deal of that magnitude for the England international.
Rashford hasn’t been named in either of Ruben Amorim’s past two squads despite the Portuguese manager admitting there is still a future for him at Old Trafford.
In an interview with journalist Henry Winter on 17 December, the 27-year-old revealed he is “ready for a new challenge and the next steps”.
But the forward’s deal, which is believed to be worth in excess of £325,000 a week, isn’t set to expire until 2028.

Borson insisted those terms will make it difficult for any club to pursue a deal for Rashford.
He told Football Insider: “The wages and the fee will be connected because clubs will look at the deal and work out the total deal cost.
“It’s going to be a £100million deal over the period of his contract, let’s say four years. He’s going to be 28 next year.
“It’s going to be £100million, including the transfer fee and his wages.
“We know that there are a handful of teams that can afford a deal like that. One of them is Man United, so that’s them out.
“PSG have said they are not up for it. We know he’s probably too old for Chelsea.
“I think Man City and Liverpool would be very difficult deals to do even if they wanted to do the deal, which it’s not really clear they would want to, so where is he going to go?
“Saudi was mentioned in the newspapers, clearly they could do it. But does he really want to go to Saudi? I suspect not.
“I think it’s a very difficult situation.”
