Man United could be forced to sack Ruben Amorim after public statement
Ruben Amorim has faced relentless questions about his job security at Man United this season amid continuous calls for him to be sacked.
Amorim’s side won 2-0 last time out, after Football Insider revealed Man United’s clash with Sunderland was a must-win for Amorim to keep his position safe.
Since then, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has decided to back Amorim, with his recent public comments suggesting he could be given as long as three years to turn things around.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was cited as an example of patience paying off, and while calls for his head are likely to continue, they will fall of deaf ears with the board.
However, that has done little to stem the tide of criticism aimed at his methods and management, with fans and pundits still not convinced he is the right man for the job.

Man United could be forced to sack Ruben Amorim
Despite Ratcliffe’s public statement of support for the manager, there remains a possibility United could be forced to pull the trigger if their issues on the pitch continue.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Amorim is still under intense pressure to push United further up the Premier League table.
While the plan is currently to give the boss time to get his ideas across, another failure like last season’s 15th-placed finish could still see him dismissed.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Look, it’s a results driven business. And if you’re not getting results, it obviously piles of pressure on Amorim.
“If results don’t improve, performances don’t improve and Man United find themselves well down in the table, it’s going to increase pressure on them and they might be forced into making a change.
“It’s a very huge public backing and support that Ratcliffe has given to Amorim saying he wants to give him three years to prove himself at Man United.
“We know Ratcliffe has said that he wants to give him three years to get things right, prove himself.
“If the results don’t improve in the meantime, the pressure will just grow and grow, and once that happens, you normally do have a change of managers.
“Results will dictate what Ruben Amorim’s future is at Old Trafford.”
Meanwhile, Man United legend Gary Neville has insisted Amorim is “not off the hook” and called for him to take responsibility and stop making excuses for their poor displays. [Sky Sports]
The real reason Man United won’t sack Ruben Amorim
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Man United would have to pay Amorim around £10million to dismiss him from his contract.
That has been tipped as a key reason the boss has not already been sacked, with the club managing their financial situation carefully given recent concerns.
This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Man United will not sack Amorim as a result of the financial implications of letting him go.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 5 October that Amorim will not resign from Man United as it would mean giving up on the significant payout.
Any suggestions that the boss could walk away from his position have largely been dismissed, as he is determined to turn around his fortunes at Old Trafford.
