Man United could have the ‘inside track’ on Liverpool after source’s advanced talks reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Man United could now have the “inside track” on Liverpool.

But, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said the potential appointment of Michael Edwards at United will not be a “huge problem” for the Reds.

On Sunday (27 November), sources told this site that the Red Devils are well placed to agree a deal with Edwards regardless of a potential takeover.

Last month (1 October), this site broke the news that the Manchester club are confident of beating Chelsea to the appointment of the former Liverpool transfer guru.

United are still on course to finalise terms with Edwards and will wait until next summer for him to join.

Last week (22 November) the Red Devils announced that the Glazers would be exploring the sale of the club, but the potential deal will have no impact on Edwards’ position.

When asked if having the former Liverpool man could give United an extra competitive edge over the Merseysiders, Hutton told Football Insider: “Possibly.

It is a whole new chapter. Of course he will maybe have the inside track on certain things but that will be as far as it goes.

Man United fans are growing tired

You close that book over and you only worry about the club that you are working for. There is little pointers that he might be able to tell but I do not see it being a huge problem for Liverpool.

As long as he hits the ground running there and does well for Man United then there will be no issue.
