Man United could make ‘big loss’ on Harry Maguire after ‘private questions’ – pundit
Man United would struggle to recoup anywhere near £80million for Harry Maguire this summer, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Tottenham and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 29-year-old is “bang out of form” and “devoid of confidence” at Old Trafford.
Maguire scored an own goal against Spurs on Saturday but it ultimately proved indecisive as Man United ran out 3-2 winners in the end.
Earlier this month (3 March), The Times reported that the centre-half’s continued selection by Ralf Rangnick has been privately questioned by some of his teammates.
The England international has been intensely scrutinised since joining the Red Devils in a £80million deal from Leicester City in August 2019.
When asked if United could recoup a sum close to that if Maguire was to be sold this summer, Robinson told Football Insider:
“They’d struggle to get anywhere near that. I don’t think he’s going to leave but they’d make a big loss if they did try to.
“At the moment, he is bang out of form. He is having a really tough season.
“We know the levels he can reach but he looks like a player devoid of confidence. The more we talk about it in the media, the more difficult it is for him to recover. It becomes a mental issue as well as a footballing one. The harder you try the less it works out sometimes.

“This is the first test of his career. The first really tough patch that he has to work through.
“He needs to get back to his best but he’s getting no help from his teammates. There is a severe lack of leaders on that pitch.”
In other news, a Man United star has been told how he can save his career ‘right now’ with one ‘simple’ change.
