Man United fans are clamouring for the return of well-loved goalkeeper David de Gea to Old Trafford after Andre Onana’s performance in the 4-2 win against Sheffield United on Wednesday (24 April).
The Cameroon international was starting for the 33rd time in the Premier League but underwhelmed supporters with his display.
Onana was at fault for Sheffield United’s first goal, passing the ball straight to Jaden Bogle – who slammed home to give the Blades a 1-0 lead.
The ex-Inter shot-stopper has let in 50 league goals this term and was also slammed for high-profile mistakes in Europe as United finished fourth in the Champions League group stage.
De Gea was released by the Red Devils last summer (2023) after failing to agree a contract at the club.
The Spaniard spent 12 years at Man United and racked up 545 appearances for the club, winning one Premier League title.
