Man United fans bid farewell to Andre Onana after broadcaster’s update
Man United supporters have urged the club to sell Andre Onana following a fresh update on his future at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim’s side have endured a disappointing season, sitting in 13th place, out of all domestic competitions, and pinning their hopes on the Europa League as their only chance of silverware.
Defensive issues have plagued the team throughout the campaign, despite the arrivals of Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt. However, some fans believe the real problem lies in goal.
Onana has faced heavy criticism this season for his costly errors, with many questioning his ability to provide stability at the back.
His struggles playing out from the back have led to frequent mistakes, further fuelling frustration among the fanbase who are calling for him to be sold.
But now, a fresh update on Onana’s future could provide the answer to their requests.

Andre Onana is ‘unsettled’ at Man United as Saudi interest grows
Alex Crook of talkSPORT has reported “serious interest” from the Saudi Pro League in the Cameroon international, with the goalkeeper said to have been “unsettled for some time.”
Crook also revealed that Amorim is “not against selling Onana” after a season riddled with costly errors.
Concerns over the shot-stopper’s form have been growing for months. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 26 February that figures within Man United are concerned about Onana’s performances this season.
United’s ongoing defensive struggles have only added to the pressure on their goalkeeper, but his mistakes have been impossible to ignore. He has conceded 53 goals this season while managing just nine clean sheets.
Competition | Appearances | Goals conceded | Clean Sheets |
Premier League | 29 | 40 | 8 |
Europa League | 8 | 10 | 1 |
FA Cup | 2 | 2 | 0 |
Community Shield | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Total: | 40 | 53 | 9 |
Man United fans call for David De Gea return amid Andre Onana potential exit
The Red Devils signed Onana for £47 million under Erik ten Hag, expecting him to be a long-term successor to David de Gea. However, the move has failed to work out as planned.
Some Man United fans are now calling for De Gea’s return, with the Spaniard currently playing for Fiorentina after leaving United as a free agent.
Onana was initially seen as a key part of United’s future, but after just two seasons, his time at Old Trafford already looks to be coming to an end.
One fan reacted to the latest reports, saying: “He’s been mostly awful at United. He should be gone in the summer” while another added: “Sell him, please.”
