Man United fans are unanimous over ‘catastrophic’ Lisandro Martinez update

Man United fans have expressed their concern surrounding the injury Lisandro Martinez suffered during their defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday (2 February).

The 20-time champions suffered their 11th defeat of the season as the Eagles beat them 2-0 after a brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The Argentina international was in tears as he was carried off the pitch on stretcher following a collision with Ismaila Sarr in the 82nd minute of the game.

The Manchester Evening News has now reported that Martinez is unlikely to play again this season due to the severity of the injury.

It is the latest in a long-list of injuries that the centre-back has dealt with since joining the Premier League giants in 2022.

Martinez missed six weeks at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, while he was also injured for four at the start of the following season.

The 27-year-old was also on the sidelines for eight weeks last year between February and March and then another six weeks because of a calf issue as he has struggled to stay fit.

Man United fans are heartbroken over the latest Lisandro Martinez issue

Martinez has made 20 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

United fans are now concerned about the situation regarding both Martinez’s future at the club and the impact it will have on the team, with some claiming the season is “over.”
