Man United fans slam ‘liability’ who was ‘absolutely awful’ vs Liverpool

Manchester United entered their clash against Liverpool with the aim of winning at Anfield for the first time since January 2016.

Last time out, Man United beat Sunderland 2-0 to ease the pressure off Ruben Amorim, who needed a statement win more than anyone against the Reds.

Although the Red Devils have claimed just three wins in their last 20 meetings against one of their arch rivals, Mbeumo held the key for Man United to unlock Liverpool’s defence, and so it proved.

Mbeumo scored the quickest goal ever in this fixture, firing home inside two minutes to send the away end into delirium.

United dominated in the opening exchanges, and Liverpool struggled to live with their pace on the counterattack, but one player was slammed by the visiting fans.

Man United fans slam Diogo Dalot vs Liverpool

Diogo Dalot returned from injury at the end of September after missing the 3-0 loss to Manchester City and the 2-1 win over Chelsea.

The 26-year-old is one of several players who divide opinion in the Man United squad, although his versatility makes him someone Amorim rates highly.

Dalot started at left wing-back against Liverpool but he didn’t cover himself in glory, particularly in the first-half, as supporters made their feelings known on X.

“How is Dalot a #mufc player? Absolutely awful,” one supporter wrote, while someone else commented: “I’m not even joking when I say this, but Dalot is the worst football player we’ve had at Man Utd post SAF. It amazes me how he’s managed to play so many games.”

“If Dalot stays on for the second half we will lose this match! He’s basically Liverpool’s 12th man at this point!” someone else exclaimed.

“Ran out of words to describe Dalot, beyond pathetic smh,” another said.

“Dalot is a liability,” one fan simply stated, and someone else wrote: “De Ligt talking to Amorim saying “get Dalot off the pitch.”

Dalot’s stats vs Liverpool

Dalot struggled on the left flank against Liverpool, failing to offer anything going forward quality-wise, while looking like a defensive liability in the first half.
