Man United-linked Ivan Toney bids farewell as Al-Ahli exit confirmed
Ivan Toney has reacted to the latest confirmed departure from Al-Ahli as the striker continues to be linked with a move to Man United.
Toney, 29, joined the Saudi Pro League outfit from Brentford last summer, but has since been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim’s side are determined to land a new striker and have been tipped as a destination for the England international after they missed out on alternative targets.
Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 3 July that Man United are considering a move for Toney as one of their attacking targets.
There is a belief that his time at the top level of the game is not finished, while United scouts appreciate his goalscoring record in the Premier League.
The former Brentford star has been on the radar at Old Trafford for a while, after Football Insider revealed in August 2024 that United plotted a £20million bid for Toney.

Ivan Toney sends new Al-Ahli message amid Man United links
Al-Ahli finished fifth in the Saudi Pro League last season, but won the Asian Champions League, with Toney playing a key part in their success.
However, Toney is not the only big name who could be leaving the club this summer.
A couple of key players have already left the club this summer after the highly-rated Gabri Veiga left to return to Europe with FC Porto.
The latest departure from the Saudi club is former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, who joined Al-Sadd in the Qatari Stars League and further weakened the Al-Ahli squad.
Taking to Instagram on 25 July, Toney bid a fond farewell to his teammate as he wrote: “Pleasure to share the pitch with you! Such a nice guy and an even better player. Good luck my brother.”

Nicolas Jackson update emerges at Old Trafford
A new striker has become the focus for Amorim’s side in the coming weeks, with a number of targets on their radar including Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Football Insider revealed on 22 July that United could make a move for Jackson if the price is right as he could be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, sources say that United are in a difficult financial position, and they can’t afford to sign the 24-year-old if Chelsea set a high asking price.
Reportedly, the West London side want over £80million for the Senegal international, which would be too expensive for the Red Devils. [Sky Sports]
