Man United look ‘bad’ again after ’embarrassing’ development – pundit

The Man United owners are “embarrassing” after they agreed to let Ralf Rangnick have two jobs.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the German’s new role.

Man United confirmed on 29 April that Rangnick will take up the role as Austria’s manager at the end of the season.

It was also confirmed he will stay at Old Trafford in a consultancy role as announced when he joined the club earlier this summer.

McAvennie insists this is another example of the Old Trafford decision-makers not knowing what they are doing.

“The owners at Man United don’t know what they are doing, it’s embarrassing,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You can’t do two jobs. I said the same about Gordan Strachan up at Celtic when he was working somewhere else.

“I love him dearly but you just can’t do it. It’s like they can’t help but make bad decisions over there.

“As soon as something goes wrong at the club, this is what people will be asking questions about.

“You have to do one or the other for me, you can’t do two jobs, you just can’t.

“Surely he would want to focus on one job as well? If he’s meant to be watching Austria players all the time then how can he focus on Man United?”

Erik ten Hag will become the new Manchester United manager in the summer.

He was announced as the club’s new boss on 21 April.

In other news, Man United have been tipped to accept a ‘£20million’ Aaron Wan-Bissaka bid after an update.
