Man United may be forced into Aaron Wan-Bissaka U-turn after offer submitted – pundit

Noel Whelan has claimed Man United may be forced to loan Aaron Wan-Bissaka out this summer due to a lack of interest in a permanent move.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old is “just not good enough going forward”.

According to the Manchester Evening News (3 June), Man United have offered Wan-Bissaka to at least one club after Erik ten Hag informed him that he is not in his plans at Old Trafford.

The report claims the Old Trafford club are open to selling the former Crystal Palace man as well as fellow full-back Brandon Williams this summer.

Wan-Bissaka, who cost Man United a reported £50million in 2019, started just two of the last 10 league games during the 2021-22 campaign.

He has registered two goals and 10 assists in 126 outings for the Red Devils.

Whelan insisted his attacking limitations mean Man United will be targeting a player with “more creativity” this summer.

“He’s one of these players that If they can get a good fee, they’ll take it,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“But if no one comes in with that acceptable bid, it will have to be a loan deal, won’t it?

“I’m not sure he’ll be Ten Hag’s cup of tea. He can defend, but he’s just not good enough going forward.

“In this modern day, you just need more creativity going forward. That’s what he’s lacking, and we’ve seen that.

“I think when you look at full-backs nowadays – they’ve got to do everything.

“He just struggles, and you need more going forward.”
