Man United news: Expert issues ‘massive’ Luke Shaw claim after confirmed injury update
Paul Robinson has insisted Man United will “struggle” without Luke Shaw after he went under the knife for an issue related to his horror leg break in 2015.
The former England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed it is “massively important” for the 26-year-old to fix the problem with a World Cup on the horizon.
As per The Telegraph (14 April), Shaw could be out for the season after undergoing surgery to remove screws in his leg.
The left-back had recently complained of discomfort around the operation site.
He had two bolts fixed to aid his recovery after spending 11 months out with a double leg break seven years ago.
Robinson suggested it is “vital” for Shaw to fix the problem in order to remain high in the England pecking order.
“Man United will struggle without him,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Telles came in against Everton, but you can’t really highlight his poor performance because no one played particularly well.
“Shaw has had a decent season in what is a poor Man United team. They’ve got nothing to play for now.
“It’s massively important he has the time to get himself right and fit for next season.
“That will be so vital because it’s a World Cup year and England are blessed with options at full-back.
The defender has made 19 league starts for Man United this term.

Shaw is out of contract in June 2023.
Man United have the option to extend his stay an extra year.
