Man United news: Pundit ‘can’t believe’ Barcelona after new Frenkie de Jong twist revealed by journalist
Frenkie de Jong will not consider a move to Man United or Chelsea until his financial situation at Barcelona is resolved.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest twist in the De Jong transfer saga.
United have been locked in negotiations over a move for De Jong, 25, since the beginning of the summer window.

According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (8 August), Barcelona have told their midfielder they want to annul his existing contract and return him to the deal he was on previously.
The La Liga giants are said to be claiming the deal given to De Jong by the club’s previous board involved criminality.
Man United and Chelsea both want to sign the Netherlands international this month.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “De Jong is not going anywhere until he gets his money from Barcelona.
“He has deferred his wages to help the club through a difficult financial situation.
“I can’t believe they have then gone out and given big contracts to Raphinha, [Jules] Kounde and [Robert] Lewandowski when they still owe him.

“Until that situation is resolved, I cannot see De Jong going to Chelsea or United. His personal situation at Barca needs to be sorted out. He is owed X amount by a club that is buying Raphinha and Lewandowski.
“It has been portrayed in the media that he perhaps does not want to go to Man United. I don’t think he will want to go anywhere until he is paid what he is owed by Barcelona.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed Man United may have to pay off star players after journalist’s update.
