Man United news: Pundit drops ‘huge’ Harry Kane claim after source’s £85m signing reveal
Frank McAvennie has claimed Harry Kane’s potential move to Man United is like “putting your hand in a glove”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said United “will be a force” next season.
The Red Devils have made Kane a top priority signing ahead of the summer window.
On Wednesday (26 April), sources told this site that Man United are hopeful they can sign the England captain for £85million plus add-ons this summer.
Spurs’ valuation of Kane is believed to be £100m and they will try to secure that sum for their star forward but a lower fee of £85m is more likely.
The striker will have a year left on his deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season and the Manchester club are laying the groundwork to land him in the summer.
McAvennie acknowledged that it will be a big ask for Erik ten Hag’s side to land Kane.
“They [Man United] will be a force next year,” he told Football Insider.
“If they get Harry Kane they will be up there challenging it is as simple as that.
“They have not had a number nine for years. Man United is a club for Harry Kane.
“He has won every award at Tottenham but he has not won a trophy.

“Man United are huge, Harry Kane is huge, it is like putting your hand in a glove and it will turn them around.
“I think it is a great piece of business if they get him, but it is a big if.“
