Man United news: Pundit shares chances of permanent Ralf Rangnick appointment after source’s update today
There is no chance Ralf Rangnick will be given the Man United job on a permanent basis.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Red Devils’ hunt for a new manager.
Rangnick has won seven of his 12 matches as interim boss of Man United with the lastest coming at Elland Road against Leeds United on Sunday (20 February).

However, performances have been far from convincing and the club exited the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough on the German’s watch.
An industry has told Football Insider that Rangnick has not given up hopes of becoming the Man United manager on a permanent basis.
McAvennie insists there is no chance he will be given the job.
“It won’t be Rangnick, it can’t be,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He came with a big reputation but he’s not really been doing it.
“There have been stories I’ve read coming out about discontent at Man United.
“I’m not sure things are very good behind the scenes but ultimately the results haven’t been good enough.
“That’s what will be the decider and for me, he hasn’t done enough.”

It was announced Rangnick will take a “consultancy role with the club at the end of the season after he was given the interim manager’s job.
He replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November and currently has his side sat fourth in the Premier League.
