Man United news: Pundit shares verdict on Christian Eriksen deal as offer submitted
Noel Whelan has urged Christian Eriksen to consider his role before completing a potential Man United move this summer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 30-year-old may only play a “bit-part role” if he moves to Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mirror (4 June), Man United have joined the race to sign Eriksen this summer after the expiry of his short-term Brentford contract.

Sky Sports claim (2 June) the Bees have offered the Denmark international a long-term deal and are awaiting his response.
Eriksen notched one goal and four assists in 11 Premier League games after making his football comeback in January following a cardiac arrest last year (2021).
Whelan suggested the midfielder would benefit from playing “week-in, week-out” at this stage of his career.
“Eriksen has put himself back into the shop window for these bigger clubs,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Brentford showed the faith in him, gave him the opportunity. The rest of the Premier League have sat up and taken notice.
“He’s put in some great performances for club and country since coming back, and he’s re-adapted really well.
“He would enhance any team – but he doesn’t want to sit on the bench every week or play a bit-part role.
“Eriksen is a better player when he can be that star man and playing week-in, week-out. That’s what he’s got to think about when he’s looking at this offer from Man United.”

Eriksen has notched 52 goals and 71 assists in 237 Premier League appearances.
Man United will play Europa League football during the 2022-23 season after sealing a sixth-place finish during the previous campaign.
