Man United next manager: List of contenders revealed to replace Ruben Amorim after shock Wolves draw

Man United boss Ruben Amorim could soon be replaced by one of Oliver Glasner, Gareth Southgate or Unai Emery after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Wolves on Tuesday.

Amorim‘s position in charge has been constantly questioned over the last few months as Man United struggle to string a run of consistent positive results together.

They were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, as Joshua Zirkzee’s opener was cancelled out by Ladislav Krejci’s header.

The result leaves the Red Devils sixth in the Premier League as it stands, with Amorim potentially set to be sacked soon amid concerns around what the future holds with him at the helm.

Several managers, both in and out of work, have been touted with taking the United job if he does depart, with the frontrunners now revealed by the latest bookmakers odds.

Glasner leads the odds to be next United boss with Southgate, Emery and Xavi in the running

One of the UK’s leading bookmakers has drawn up the odds for United’s next manager, with Crystal Palace boss Glasner the current favourite, at 3/1.

Glasner looks set to depart Palace when his contract expires at the end of this campaign, after leading them to their maiden major trophy win in May, with an FA Cup triumph.

Former England boss Southgate is up next at 5/1, while Aston Villa manager Emery is third-favourite at 6/1 odds.

Emery is one of the most highly-rated bosses in world football right now after leading Villa to an 11-game winning run that came to an end with a defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday, but is under contract until 2029.

Others in the running include Barcelona icon Xavi, at 8/1, Bournemouth manager Iraola at 10/1, and former United players Laurent Blanc and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at 12/1 odds.

Glasner could stay at Palace despite United links

Glasner seems to be at the end of his tether with the Palace board, after he felt his squad was left very short in the summer window as they entered the Conference League.

He is currently set to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season, but may well be convinced to sign a new deal if he is backed with new signings in the January window.

Former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness has exclusively told Football Insider that he thinks Eagles chief Steve Parish can convince Glasner to sign a new contract if he does bring in numerous new signings in the new year.

Amorim has been urged to learn from Glasner in terms of how he addresses the media, and United could move to sack him soon if they want to get the Palace boss signed up as their new manager.
