Man United primed to agree Amrabat deal after delegation jets in – pundit
Man United need to sign another defensive midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton has claimed that the Red Devils need to give Casemiro support by signing another midfielder to ease the pressure on the Brazilian international.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday( 2 August) that Sofyan Amrabat’s agents have travelled to Manchester ahead of a proposed move to Man United.
A bid of around £30million could seal a deal for the player.
The 26-year-old previously worked under Ten Hag at FC Utrecht, making 50 appearances under the Dutchman, contributing to 11 goals, and with Amrabat into the final 12 months of his Fiorentina deal, a reunion could be on the cards.
With United looking for Casemiro alternatives, Hutton believes that United are right to try and sign another midfielder.
“Man United may need to search for a replacement,” he told Football Insider.
These are guys that want to go forward and attack, and they’ve probably been given licence to.
“But Because of this, Casemiro will get you left exposed at times and does he have the legs of these kind of younger defensive midfielders to get about for 90 minutes Constantly?

“He would also have to do this week in and week out, which is tough on him.
“It could be a situation where Man United search for a replacement similar before the transfer window closes. The Ambrabat deal makes sense and I can see that happening before the window shuts”.
