Man United pull Christian Eriksen transfer U-turn – sources

Man United are now unlikely to let Christian Eriksen leave the club this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The English deadline has now passed but windows remain open in the Netherlands, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and more nations.

Eriksen has been linked with potential moves to Ajax and Anderlecht, but it is believed he will now stay at Old Trafford until January at least.

Injury to Mason Mount, who is expected to miss at least five weeks of action, has forced Erik ten Hag and transfer chiefs at Man United to U-turn on letting the Denmark international leave.

Football Insider had revealed on 20 August that United would accept a £5million offer for Eriksen in the summer window’s final days.

But with Premier League and European commitments clogging up the schedule, sources say he is now expected to stay.

Eriksen played four minutes off the bench in the 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at home on Sunday (1 September).

That was the first time he has made the squad for a competitive fixture in the 2024-25 campaign.

The former Tottenham and Inter Milan star is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025.

He has made 73 appearances for the club since joining on a free transfer two years ago, notching three goals and 13 assists.
