Man United pundit hits out at ‘incredibly divisive’ Ronaldo after Sky dressing room reveal
Danny Mills has suggested Cristiano Ronaldo could be having an “incredibly divisive” presence at Man United.
The former England defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 36-year-old’s standards are “super high”.
Speaking on Sky Sports (27 December), former Man United defender Gary Neville slammed Ronaldo and teammate Bruno Fernandes for their “whinging” on the pitch after a 1-1 draw against Newcastle this week.
Neville claimed there is “something wrong” within the changing room at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo grabbed a goal and an assist last night (30 December) as Man United bounced back with a 3-1 win over Burnley.
When asked for his thoughts, Mills told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “Well, we always knew it wasn’t going to be simple with Ronaldo.
“He’s a winner, his standards are super high. He only wants the best, wants to be the best, and therefore expects the best from everybody else.
“However, he’s not at his absolute peak. He’s still an incredible player, so clearly if things aren’t going his way, then he will demand certain things.
“That can be brilliant, or it could be incredibly divisive at Man United.
“He’s used to success at the club, he’s used to having the strong teammates, he’s used to having the strong manager – there’s a lot of differences now he’s come back.
“I would assume he’s thinking his teammates need to pull their finger out. But they could be thinking: ‘Hang on, we’re doing our best here.’”

Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Man United in the summer window after departing Juventus.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 14 goals in 21 games this season.
In other news, pundit tells Man United to sell Anthony Martial “at any cost” in January as new offer submitted.
