Man United rebuilding around ‘incredible’ Bruno Fernandes after ‘amazing’ update – pundit
Man United will build their new squad around Bruno Fernandes after he signed a new contract with the club.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “incredible” midfielder’s future.
On Friday (1 April), Man United announced Fernandes, 27, has signed a new deal at Old Trafford.
He is now contracted until 2026.
Kenny claims Fernandes is now the “main man” at Old Trafford after signing his new deal.
“It’s amazing for Man United. There is no doubting he is a brilliant player,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If there was one player you were going to build around over the next few years, it would be him.
“Obviously, he has been nowhere near his usual levels this season but no one has forgotten how good he was last year.
“If he can find that form under a new manager then this deal looks to be a no brainer.
“I watched him play for Portugal last week and he was incredible so he clearly still has it.
“I wonder if he just needs a new manager to come in and revitalise the club side of his career.
“It’s a long deal so you would think he is the main man there now.
“AS I said, I think they will build this new team around him now.”

Fernandes has made 38 total appearances for Manchester United this season.
He has scored nine goals and registered 14 assists across those outings.
