Man United recruitment hailed ‘world-class’ by pundit after £903m reveal
Kevin Campbell has launched a staunch defence of the recruitment at Man United after the club was revealed as the highest net-spenders in Europe over the past decade.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed Ralf Rangnick’s squad is “littered with world-class players”.
On 7 February, the CIES Football Observatory published the net spend of all clubs in Europe big-five leagues over the past decade.

It was revealed that Man United have spent £903million on transfers since the 2012-13 campaign – more than any other side.
However, the Red Devils are trophyless since 2017 and have not won a league title since 2013.
When asked if recruitment has been a problem at Old Trafford, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “I don’t think it has been the problem.
“In my eyes, the recruitment at Manchester United has been good.
“The problem is, they’ve been a nearly team. They’ve never got over the line. Unfortunately, United couldn’t get over the line under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“I mean, look at their squad! It is littered with world-class players. I’m not going to have that the recruitment has been a problem.
“It is the will to win that is lacking at United right now and perhaps that needs to be instilled by a manager.

“It’s also important to remember that United have been playing catch-up. They have spent that amount of money to bridge the gap.
“I don’t think there is a lot wrong at United. Those players just don’t know how to get over the line. A trophy would give them that. They need to win silverware.”
In other news, Ralf Rangnick has been tipped to fall out with more Man United stars amid a ‘weird situation’.
