Man United saluted over James move to Leeds after £10m reported reveal
Alan Hutton has insisted Dan James’ transfer from Manchester United to Leeds United is a “great move for everybody”.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, applauded the Red Devils for turning a reported £10million profit on the 23-year-old.
Leeds confirmed the signing of Wales international James on deadline day (August 31st).
BBC Sport report the Yorkshire club will pay £25million to Manchester United for the winger, who has signed a five-year deal.
James signed for the Red Devils in 2019 for a reported initial £15million and scored nine goals in 74 appearances for the club.
Hutton raved over Manchester United’s business sense but said the Whites were getting a “more developed” player with room for further growth.
“They’re not daft, are they? We know it’s a business and lots of teams are out to make money,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“He’s still very young. There’s a lot of development that he’s still capable of making. He can become a better player.
“So yes, they’ve made money. They’ve used him while he’s been at Manchester United.
“Leeds are having to pay more than they would have the last time but that’s because he’s a better player now.
“He’s more developed, he’s had those years at a top team where he’s matured.
“They’re actually getting a more rounded player at the moment who still has room for development. That’s a great thing.

“It ticks all the boxes for Leeds, it’s a great move for everybody involved. I’m sure Bielsa is happy to finally get this done.”
The 24-cap Welshman was close to a Leeds move in January 2019, but the transfer fell through on deadline day.
In other news, Kevin Campbell has predicted Leeds United will return for Lewis O’Brien in January.
