Man United star Alejandro Garnacho caught ‘liking’ Lisandro Martinez criticism

Man United sensation Alejandro Garnacho has been caught out ‘liking’ a post criticising teammate Lisandro Martinez.

The 20-year-old was replaced by Marcus Rashford on the hour mark in their 3-2 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (December 7).

Forest centre-back Nikola Milenkovic beat Martinez, 26, in the air to put the visitors ahead after just two minutes, the third consecutive corner goal United conceded.

Ruben Amorim’s side equalized 16 minutes later through Rasmus Hojlund, who capitalised on Mats Sels’ save from Garnacho’s initial shot, slotting the rebound into the net.

Morgan Gibbs-White restored their lead just after half-time before Chris Wood put Forest 3-1 up with his 10th Premier League goal of the season.

Bruno Fernandes pulled one back in the 61st minute, but it proved too little, too late for the 20-time champions as they suffered their second consecutive Premier League defeat.

Alejandro Garnacho unimpressed with Man United teammate Lisandro Martinez

Garnacho has been in and out of the side this season, starting 15 of his 23 appearances across all competition, scoring eight goals, and providing four assists in 1443 minutes of play.

The Argentina international was clearly frustrated with Martinez, ‘liking’ a post on X, formally known as Twitter, pointing out that the 5’9″ defender was easily beaten in the air.

Martinez has been crucial to all three of Man United’s managers so far this season, starting 18 of his 19 appearances across all competitions, yielding a total of 1563 minutes of action.

United return to action in midweek as they travel to Czechia to face Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday (December 12).
