Man United star Casemiro sends goodbye message as exit is confirmed

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has taken to social media to send a farewell message.

The Brazilian played 24 league games this season, as the Red Devils recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish.

Ruben Amorim’s side ended the campaign in 15th, just three places above the relegation zone, accumulating only 42 points.

Man United also lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final, with Brennan Johnson’s 42nd-minute winner ensuring that the 20-time English champions ended the season without any silverware.

Casemiro bids farewell

It is rumoured that Casemiro could be one of six Man United first-team players to leave this summer, in what could be a mass clearout at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old could be departing Manchester, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, Bruno Fernandes, and Andre Onana.

However, the midfielder recently took to social media to pay tribute to one of his former teammates, who he built quite the partnership with.

Luca Modric is leaving Real Madrid this summer, after 13 years at the club, and Casemiro posted a photo of himself and the Croatian while he was at Los Blancos, with the caption: “My friend, what more is there to say of your goodbye?

“It was an honor to play with you and enjoy your football alongside Toni. So many unforgettable moments! You’re already a Real Madrid legend and this is how the Bernabéu recognized you. My most sincere respect.

“Thank you, Lukita!”

Amorim must improve the mentality

Football Insider Verdict

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Amorim is unlikely to be sacked by Man United, even though he failed to guide his side to victory in the Europa League final.

However, despite the fact the Portuguese manager will likely start next season in charge, he will have to turn fortunes around very quickly at Old Trafford to avoid the sack.

United won just one of their last nine games in the Premier League, and their squad is in serious need of a refresh.

However, the Red Devils are already making moves in the transfer market, with Matheus Cunha set to join Man United in the coming days.

There are also rumours that Bryan Mbeumo may be coming to Old Trafford, and Ipswich’s Liam Delap is another one who has been mentioned.

With a whole host of incomings, Amorim will have no excuse next season, and will lose his job if he doesn’t start getting results.
