Man United news: Medical expert reveals when Varane will play again after ‘another’ setback
Man United centre-back Raphael Varane’s latest setback is only minor -he may even return tonight (29 March) for France against South Africa.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Varane, 28, was forced off with half an hour to play in France’s 2-1 friendly win over the Ivory Coast last Friday (25 March).

Les Blues boss Didier Deschamps later revealed that Varane had a “small problem” in his foot, per the Manchester Evening News today (29 March).
The World Cup winner, who signed for United from Real Madri last summer, has struggled with injuries since his arrival in Manchester.
Groin and hamstring problems as well as two spells out with illness have forced him to miss 14 games in total.
But Dinnery predicts that Varane’s latest setback is almost a non-issue.
“He trained away from the group on Sunday,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“Then I think he trained with the group on Monday. Nothing sinister to worry about. It looks like a small impact injury.
“He could well be involved against South Africa. That will ultimately be up to Didier Deschamps,
“It is another very minor problem, but I don’t think there’s anything really to worry about for Man United fans.”

Varane has scored once in 24 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
United are next in action against Leicester City on Saturday (2 April).
