Man United tipped to sign ‘top-class’ Wan-Bissaka ‘upgrade’ after newspaper update – pundit
Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier would be an “upgrade” on Man United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 31-year-old presents much more attacking threat than the current United star.
According to the Manchester Evening News (November 19th), Man United are set to revive their interest in Trippier if they sell Diogo Dalot to Roma in January.

The report claims the Red Devils were interested in the Englishman during the summer transfer window.
The defender reportedly made arrangements to move to Manchester, but a deal didn’t materialise before the deadline.
Whelan insisted Trippier would be a “top-class” replacement for 24-year-old Wan-Bissaka.
“I think Trippier would give them much more going forward than Wan-Bissaka does at the moment,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Wan-Bissaka is a bit like Marmite at the moment – some people love him, and some hate him.
“I think the fans would love to bring Trippier in and welcome him – he’d be a big upgrade on Wan-Bissaka.
“That deal has been on the cards now and I think Man United would really benefit from having that extra strength in depth at the club.
“He’s got the credentials and the experience, and he is adept at going both ways – attacking and also defending.
“Everywhere he’s been in his career, he has been a top-class performer. United could really do with consistency like that right now.”

Trippier has made 15 appearances for Atleti this season.
His contract in Spain is expires in 2023.
