Man United to sack Ruben Amorim? Major update today
Man United are unlikely to sack Ruben Amorim at the end of the season despite speculation over his future, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that it would be a “huge surprise” if United were to part ways with the boss during the off-season.
Instead, they are planning to back him with new players in the transfer window in a bid to improve the available options and help the transition into his style of play.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that INEOS want to sign Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane as a statement of intent.
Meanwhile, the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Matheus Cunha, Morgan Gibbs-White and Hugo Ekitike have all been linked with United as part of their ambitious summer plans.
Amorim has prioritised signing a new striker, but feels a number of positions across his team could be improved with the board’s support.

Man United make Ruben Amorim sack decision amid financial concerns
United spent around £14.5million [BBC] on sacking Erik ten Hag mid-way through the season, before letting go of a significant fee yet again to bring Amorim to the club.
Given the current financial restrictions and concerns at Man United, they are believed to be extremely relucent to part with another big fee to sack Amorim.
Instead, they are aiming to establish further stability and will grant him time and backing to establish his preferred system and style of play.
This comes regardless of their progress in the Europa League or whether they enjoy a strong end to the season in the Premier League.

Bruno Fernandes update emerges after £90million twist
As part of their plans to back Amorim in the transfer market, United are also preparing to turn down offers for their best players after a disappointing season.
Brown told Football Insider on 3 April that Man United won’t entertain offers for Bruno Fernandes and have no intention of letting him leave the club.
Real Madrid are the latest side to be linked with a £90million move for Fernandes [Star] amid suggestions he could be open to a move away from the Premier League.
Brown told Football Insider last month that Man United don’t want to sell Fernandes and are prepared to do all they can to keep him at Old Trafford.
