Expert: Erik ten Hag to root out which Man United stars to bin with ‘ultra-strict’ test
Erik ten Hag will root out which Man United stars to bin with “ultra-strict” weekly BMI tests.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
The Daily Mail reported last Thursday (7 July) that Ten Hag has introduced weekly body mass index tests for his players.

The initiative will work in tandem with an outright embargo on personal chefs as the Dutchman looks to bring nutrition under his control at Carrington.
What amounts to a blanket ban on alcohol has also been introduced by the new United boss.
Dinnery claims that Ten Hag can use the BMI tests to wheedle out which players will not pass muster under his regime.
“It is difficult to police dietary requirements away from the club,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams
“BMI testing on a weekly basis is a way to do that. You can get people to remain within the parameters outlined by the club in terms of their body composition.

“It’s just another way to assert his authority and makes sure he’s really on top of things. It’s ultra-strict. There is going to be no leeway in there.
“He wants to deliver a game plan and philosophy. You need to toe the line to do that. With this sort of thing, you know who you want to keep and who you want to get rid of.”
