Man United told not to let Scott McTominay ‘sign for West Ham’ – expert
Man United should keep Scott McTominay at the club despite West Ham searching for their Declan Rice replacement.
Speaking exlusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that McTominay would be a good signing for the Hammers, as he has shown his key importance at Man United.
Last month (10 June), Football Insider revealed that Everton are likely to be in the race for McTominay with interest from fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Newcastle United.
Football Insider also revealed three months ago (26 May) that McTominay, 26, has told friends he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer for the good of his career.
With the potential departure of the midfielder, Agbonlahor believes that the Scotland international would be a good signing for West Ham.
““McTominay would be a good squad option for West Ham,” he told Football Insider.
“He could be a decent option, but not a direct Rice replacement, but he will be good to have in the team.
“Man United are going to be challenging in four competitions, he won’t be a guarenteed starter for them, but he will still be important for United to play in certain games.
“We’ve seen his goalscoring abilities with Scotland this summer, as he has been their top finisher, so he’s a player that is useful.

“He’s never going to be a key starter, but is definitely someone you need in and around the squad.
“If I was Manchester United I would keep him instead of letting West Ham sign him.”
