Man United told to accept Cristiano Ronaldo offer amid ‘massive’ claim – pundit

Man United need to sell Cristiano Ronaldo as soon as possible after another display of disrespect.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the icon’s future.

Ronaldo headed down the tunnel before the end of his side’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday (19 October).

As quoted by BBC Sport (20 October), who report that the 37-year-old briefly entered the changing room before leaving Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has admitted he will “deal with” the situation.

McManus couldn’t believe what he saw as Ronaldo marched down the tunnel.

“I just think there is a massive black cloud hanging over them with Ronaldo,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“They need to get him out the door as quickly as they can in January. I don’t think it is great for the team morale to see him walking down the tunnel.

“It was before the game ended. I have seen people try to defend him, saying that maybe the manager has let him leave early but that is never, ever going to happen.

“I was at many clubs for many years and you can ask any ex-professional, you don’t walk down to the changing from before the game has finished.

“It’s disrespectful to the manager and your teammates. I think Ten Hag has a big problem.”

Fred and Bruno Fernandes scored the goals that gave the Red Devils victory over Spurs.

Man United are next in action against Chelsea on Saturday (22 October).
