Man United told to accept Fred offer after source’s reveal – Agbonlahor
Man United have a crucial decision to make with who to sell in the middle of the park before the transfer window closes.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Erik ten Hag should look to keep Scott McTominay but sell Fred.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in June that Man United will consider offers for midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay in the summer window.
If the Brazil international wants to leave Old Trafford, the club will be open to letting him go if they receive the right fee – but they are also happy to keep him as part of the squad for the 2023-24 campaign.
Football Insider also revealed three months aho (26 May) that McTominay, 26, has told friends he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer for the good of his career.
With the potential departure of both midfiedlers, Agbonlahor believes that only one of the two midfielders should leave in the summer
“McTominay can offer more than Fred,” he told Football Insider.
“Fred would have decent games, but would also be very inconsistent, he is not your typical Man United player.
“I would move Fred on, but would look to keep McTominay as he has shown that he can score goals and he can fill in different positions, especially at centre back.

“He’s that versatile player similar to how John O’Shea was, meaning he can play anywhere on the pitch which is very helpful.
“With Manchester United playing in many competition this season, it would not make sense to sell him, but Fred is a player they should look to get rid off.”
