Man United told to U-turn on signing Joao Felix amid ‘superstar’ claim – pundit
Alan Hutton has told Man United to steer clear of Joao Felix.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back insisted United do not need another “luxury” attacker.
Speaking to Spanish outlet TVE (6 December), Atletico Madrid owner Gil Marin said that the 23-year-old’s relationship with coach Diego Simeone has broken down.
Marin added that the club are now thinking about his departure and Felix is keen to leave.
The attacker’s current contract with the Spanish giants runs until 2026 but it is becoming increasingly likely that he will move in January.
Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG have all been linked with the Portugal international, along with the Red Devils.
Hutton suggested United should take themselves out of the running.
“He is an outstanding football player,” he told Football Insider.
“Is that what they need at this moment in time? Another luxury winger, I do not really think so.
“You look at the players they have got at this moment in time, they spent a lot of money on Antony. They spent a lot of money on [Jadon] Sancho who is nowhere to be seen at the moment, the list goes on.

“I do not really think that is what they need at this moment in time. Yes their name is probably in the hat because if a superstar comes up you want them at your club, especially at Man United.
“But I think they are heavily stacked at the moment in those positions.“
In other news, Agbonlahor has claimed Jadon Sancho could be heading for Championship club as Man United news confirmed.
