Man United urged to complete De Gea signing with ‘staff concerned about Andre Onana’
Man United are drifting away from where they want to be as a football club and fans are calling for the owners to look to the past in a bid to fix it.
The 20-time champions are 13th in the Premier League after 29 games, having only managed 10 victories to this point.
A managerial change didn’t create the impact that fans and the ownership had hoped for, with Ruben Amorim struggling to provide the positive results needed to change their fortunes.
It has led to an increase of pressure on Amorim among supporters as attention is starting to turn to the summer transfer window and the potential changes that could be made to the team.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly backed Amorim and made it clear he’s aware that the club needs to sign players who will suit his system and the formation the United boss wants to play.
A lot of the focus has gone onto the outfield players who United may sign in the summer, but supporters are now starting to focus on the goalkeeper as well.

Andre Onana hasn’t won people over at Old Trafford
Andre Onana joined the club in 2023 and replaced David de Gea as the first-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford, but his performances have been the stuff of nightmares at times.
Industry insider Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that United staff are concerned about Onana’s performances this season as “serious questions” have been asked about the 28-year-old.
Club stats 2024-25 (all competitions) | Onana |
Appearances | 40 |
Goals Conceded | 53 |
Clean Sheets | 9 |
Minutes Played | 3,360 |
Onana has made multiple errors throughout this season and the club feels that this is an area of the team that could be upgraded during the summer transfer window.

Man United fans want to re-sign a familiar face
United supporters are now calling for the club to consider re-signing de Gea after he has impressed this season at Fiorentina.
The 34-year-old made 545 appearances during his stint at Old Trafford, but supporters believe selling him was one of the “mistakes” that the current ownership have made.
