‘Man United will accept major Alejandro Garnacho bid’ after latest – Insider
Man United would be open to cashing in on Alejandro Garnacho if a suitable offer arrived, according to the club’s former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Old Trafford during their most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that they could be forced to sell the 20-year-old amid growing financial pressure.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that United would not sell Kobbie Mainoo “under any circumstances” and would consider alternative options.
Speculation has been rife about the midfielder’s future, with reports claiming he could be sold in an attempt to bring in “pure profit” and balance the books.
However, Brown has now suggested Garnacho would be ahead of Mainoo in the list of players United would be looking to sell.
Questions have been asked about the winger’s place in Ruben Amorim’s plans as he has been left out of the starting XI in each of their last four league games.
Man United to cash in on Alejandro Garnacho after new twist
Garnacho has been heavily linked with a move to Italian outfit Napoli in recent days, and there is a growing feeling he could leave the club sooner rather than later.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in recruitment and has worked closely with top-level players throughout his career, insisted that United will listen to any offers that arrive and consider him a sellable asset in the coming windows.
“From what I hear, they would be open to letting him go,” he told Football Insider.
“I can’t see any reason why Kobbie Mainoo would be sold, but Garnacho will be ahead of him in that list of sellable players at United.
“If their financial situation is the way it has been reported, he’s somebody who could help with that.
“He’s an academy product so would come under that ‘pure profit’ area.

“And he’s not exactly been a massive part of Amorim’s plans recently, he’s been in and out of the team and there have been questions asked about his future.
“So if a major bid comes in for him I think they’ll certainly consider letting him go.”
