Man United’s Amad Diallo sends message to Simon Adingra as Sunderland deal done

Man United star Amad Diallo sent an excited message to winger Simon Adingra after swapping Brighton for Sunderland this summer.

The 22-year-old has become an important part of Ruben Amorim‘s side, notching 11 goals and eight assists in 43 appearances, but sadly, he picked up an injury for almost three months last season.

Having returned for the end of the 2024/25 campaign, even scoring in United’s controversial 2-0 win over Aston Villa, supporters are excited to see him back on the pitch once again.

Amad, himself, however, has taken to social media to show his excitement at international teammate Adingra’s surprise move to the Stadium of Light, where the United man spent the 2022/23 season.

Taking to Instagram stories (10 July), Diallo wrote: “adindin,” with two love-heart eyes emojis, clearly excited about Adingra’s move to his former club this summer.

Regis Le Bris continues incredible summer rebuild

Football Insider verdict

While the losses of Tom Watson and Jobe Bellingham were greatly felt at the Stadium of Light, Regis Le Bris and his backroom staff have worked incredibly well to replace those departing stars.

Enzo Le Fee’s permanent transfer was triggered as soon as promotion was secured, but Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo, and Chemsdine Talbi have all been added to the squad since.

Martin Allen also spoke to Mackem News (6 July) about the prospect of the Black Cats signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea following a failed loan spell at Arsenal last season.

Sunderland finished fourth in the Championship table last season, going up against all odds to beat Sheffield United in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium back in May.

Aaron Ramsdale has also emerged as a Sunderland target, and while Anthony Patterson’s development could take a hit, next season will be all about trying to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

It has been pointed out that several of the new signings will be unavailable halfway through the campaign due to the African Cup of Nations, so more additions will be expected this summer.
