I'm a Man City fan, and this is the only reason the club should sell Rayan Cherki to Bayern Munich

Rayan Cherki has already become a force to be reckoned with after signing across the dotted line at Manchester City.

Having joined for just £34million in the summer of 2025, the Frenchman could easily be labelled as one of the biggest bargains in recent years.

Replacing Kevin de Bruyne was always going to be the hardest and scariest challenge in recent times at the Etihad, and that's a lot of pressure to put on one player.

However, with 13 goals and 19 assists to his name in his first 62 appearances, the 23-year-old is certainly doing his best to match the legendary figure.

As a Man City fan, this is probably the most I've fallen in love with a signing since the Belgian maestro joined in the summer of 2015.

Whether or not the rumours of Bayern Munich's interest is true or not, any transfer links that do emerge in the coming windows will hardly be a surprise.

Rayan Cherki is easily worth £100million

Despite signing Cherki for £34m just two summers ago, Man City could quite easily demand £100m for his signature if he were to leave.

By no means would I want the 23-year-old talent to seek an exit, but when Bayern Munich come calling, that's a tough offer to turn down.

The only way the Citizens should even consider losing him, however, is if Vincent Kompany's side were willing to exchange players.

Right now, Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise are two of the most talented players in world football, and the Premier League will desperately want to see their returns in the future.

Both have become superstars in the Bundesliga, and are even key figures on the international stage. Either would fit seamlessly into a gap in the squad left by Cherki.

How Bayern Munich really feel about Man City star

Cherki's early-season performances have caught a lot of attention all over Europe, but it would appear that Bayern's interest is simply rumour.

Speaking to CF Bayern Insider, Christian Falk said: "I asked Max Eberl about this and he made it clear that there’s no plan to bring Cherki in during the winter window.

"Bayern, anyway, don't tend to do big deals like Cherki, who would be really expensive in January, [only] if something disastrous hasn’t happened like a serious injury."

It is unlikely to be long until the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid come knocking for the Frenchman, but Man City must keep him as long as possible.

In a decade, he could go down as a similar figure to De Bruyne, and no money in the world is worth selling that in the coming transfer windows.
