'It's Absolutely Extraordinary' - Stefan Borson reveals what he 'can't believe' about Savinho to Tottenham

Manchester City appear set to agree an "absolutely extraordinary" deal with Tottenham Hotspur for the sale of Savinho.

That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the situation could be solved this weekend.

Tottenham have been long-time admirers of the young Brazilian winger, who notched five goals and three assists in 39 games last season.

And the latest reports would suggest that Spurs are ready to table an £85million deal for him, just two years on from his arrival at Man City.

He has certainly underwhelmed at the Etihad Stadium, but at 22 years of age, there was hope that he could develop and improve in seasons to come.

That no longer looks set to happen, with Roberto De Zerbi's side pushing hard for his signature, but Borson simply can't believe the reported fee.

Tottenham to sign Savinho for 'quite remarkable' fee

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson continues to voice his confusion as Spurs move to sign Savinho, despite his struggles in England so far.

"I think the Savinho situation will come to a head this weekend. I can't believe it's £85m," he said.

"That would be a quite remarkable fee. What is any relatively young, relatively decent player now worth? It's absolutely extraordinary.

"All of these players just seem to be worth, if you're young, if you're below 22 and quite good, it's now that they're worth £80m."

His first season at Man City was a successful one, notching two goals and 10 assists across the competitions, but his second was far from ideal.

Who could Man City sign as Savinho's replacement?

Savinho is by no means a key player to the squad, with many of his appearances last season coming from the bench.

However, Enzo Maresca will need impact players, with so many competitions to fight in, so a replacement for Savinho would be expected.

Football Insider understands that the situation could trigger a move for Chelsea's Pedro Neto, who clearly made an impact on Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

The majority of supporters have not welcomed the news, it's fair to say, especially given his price tag. It's certainly one to watch at the Etihad this summer.
