Man City windfall revealed as new commercial deal agreed - Stefan Borson

Manchester City's brand-new sponsorship with Trendyol is unlikely to move the dial at the Etihad Stadium ahead of 2026-27.

That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the deal is not one for supporters to get excited about.

Trendyol, one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms, have been announced at the Citizens' Official Online Marketplace Partner.

Of course, Man City are synonymous with Etihad Airways, and thanks to that partnership, the club can continue to seek extra revenue elsewhere.

The owners have set the club up for success on the pitch, and even with Pep Guardiola moving on, supporters are excited for the season ahead.

Football fans are often keen to understand the ins and outs of finances behind the scenes, and Borson has revealed the likely details behind the Trendyol deal.

Man City's Trendyol deal 'is not significant'

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has estimated the sponsorship to be worth in the region of £1million to £2m per year.

"It's not significant. It'll be £1m, maybe £2m-a-year. That sort of level for those sort of deals," he said.

"So they'll take one of the blocks of exclusive marketplace provider or something like that.

"But they're not that significant on their own, these deals."

The excitement is building ahead of the new season, but fans are unlikely to be overjoyed by the value of the Trendyol deal.

Supporters are far more focused on developments on the pitch, with just eight days left until Man City kick off their Premier League campaign.

However, before that, the Citizens will face Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday, 16 August, with the chance to lift silverware already.

Fans may even get a chance to see Jack Grealish play, despite all signs pointing towards an exit, while further deals could still happen late on in the window.

Enzo Fernandez remains an interest for City, but with Chelsea's deadline being surpassed, it doesn't seem that the Argentine is on his way to Manchester.
