Pep Guardiola likely to be appointed by another nation before England or Italy after Sky reveal - expert
Pep Guardiola is far more likely to take charge of Spain than become the manager of England or Italy anytime soon.
That is the opinion of former senior Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
England's 2-1 defeat to Argentina at the World Cup semi-final has seen discussions take place over Thomas Tuchel's future, with his defensive changes widely criticised and blamed for the defeat.
Tuchel is under contract with England until 2028 and will continue into the European Championship, but it would be something to think about if Guardiola made himself available.
The FA reportedly reached a verbal agreement for the ex-Manchester City manager to take the job in 2024, before he ultimately decided to stay with the Citizens instead.
Luis de la Fuente has now led Spain to one of the most successful periods in any nation's history, bringing victory in the Nations League, the Euros and the World Cup. He is under contract until 2028.

According to Sky Italy, Guardiola has already been approached by the Italian federation since stepping down as Man City manager.
It remains to be seen when the Spaniard will choose to step into a new role, having overseen 20 major trophies in a decade at the Etihad Stadium.
International management has always felt like a likely next step, and the links to England were strong before Tuchel's appointment.
"Why would he want that aggravation? If there's a job for Guardiola, I would say it'd be for Spain, because the guy who's in charge is 65," King told Football Insider.
"He's been involved with Spanish football for many, many years. A sensible man, former player. That position could, I would imagine, interest Guardiola if he wants to come back into football, because he's got nothing to prove at all at club level, has he?
"I just feel that although Tuchel's been well paid, it would become a very, very highly paid job if Guardiola is going to take over the England football team. Why would he want the aggravation?"

Like Jurgen Klopp in 2024, Guardiola looked to have come to the end of his tether in club management.
A decade of constantly seeking to raise standards and be at your very best to win everything possible undoubtedly takes some time to recover from.
"I love my job, but there comes a point when you feel like you have to stop. Maybe one day I'll wake up and think, 'Okay, I want to coach again,'" Guardiola told the OKX platform earlier this month.
"But that feeling has to come from within. Right now, I simply don't feel it."
