Man United player ratings v Tottenham: Poor performance from defender
By Emma Sanders
Football Insider rates the performances of the Manchester United players during their 1-0 victory against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
David De Gea 7 – had to make a good save from Christian Eriksen’s free-kick and kept a clean sheet. Wasn’t overly tested.
Antonio Valencia 7 – received a booking for a reckless tackle on Danny Rose. Didn’t get forward to0 often but made few mistakes.
Phil Jones 7 – another fairly good performance at centre-back and wasn’t troubled by Eriksen, Harry Kane or Dele Alli.
Marcos Rojo 7 – worked well alongside Jones and like his partner was rarely troubled.
Matteo Darmian 5 – another poor display. Beaten on too many occasions and failed to get forward.
Michael Carrick (C) 7 – wasn’t his usual influential performance but didn’t make too many mistakes.
Ander Herrera 8 – another great performance from the holding midfielder. Has become an important player in the side.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan 9 – scored his second goal in three days. United’s best player once again. Injury will be a concern.
Paul Pogba 8 – was involved in a number of positive attacks. A fairly good display and he hit the crossbar in the second half with a great effort.
Anthony Martial 6 – struggled to get going and couldn’t beat Kyle Walker for pace. Disappointing performance.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 7 – made a few good runs and was involved in some positive display but made little impact.
