Manchester United's hierarchy are concerend about a stream of negative outbursts against the club, sources have told Football Insider.

A number of current players and former managers have recently spoken out about issues behind the scenes, and those comments have now set alarm bells ringing.

Erik ten Hag became the latest to speak out about conditions at Old Trafford, as he questioned the club's mentality, communication and transfer policy in a scathing interview.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Man United are concerned about how recent outbursts will reflect both on and off the pitch.

Alongside Ten Hag's tell-all, both Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes have both raged at the club's decisions, with the likes of Jason Wilcox and Michael Carrick under fire.

These comments have sparked fears of a crisis in the dressing room at Man United, while the hierarchy are scrambling to put out fires amid an already turbulent season.

Are Man United's board under pressure?

Football Insider revealed on 18 October, shortly following Martinez's scathing public assessment, that Man United's board were left raging at his comments.

Since then, both Ten Hag and Fernandes have spoken out about their own issues with the club, and there are believed to be more unhappy players behind the scenes.

That is now becoming a major concern for the Red Devils hierarchy, who must make changes if they are to quell the ongoing issues taking place both on and off the pitch.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "The Man United board have got to be concerned about the recent negative comments being made public.

"When you've got this dissent that's going on within the camp right now, and then previous situations with Erik ten Hag, it doesn't paint a real good picture of Manchester United.

"That's been reflected on the pitch, with Bruno Fernandes questioning the tactics as well, and obviously we had Lisandro Martinez questioning the recruitment and hierarchy.

"It's a real difficult time for Man United right now, and the timing of the Ten Hag stuff is not ideal either with him coming out and suggesting things aren't great at Old Trafford as well.

"It's time now for Man United to batten down the hatches and try and battle through the stormy waters that they're in right now as well."

Man United in 'dressing room' mutiny, the players are 'unhappy'

What impact will this have on Michael Carrick?

Man United's board are coming under fire after the string of comments from players and managers, but they have also raised questions about Carrick's future in the job.

Fernandes' outburst especially pointed the finger at the manager and his coaching staff, calling into question his tactical decisions in the 4-1 defeat against Como.

Football Insider revealed on 23 October that Man United are now fearing a dressing room mutiny, with the captain believed to be among multiple players left frustrated.

Significant sections of the Red Devils dressing room are believed to be unhappy with how their season has gone so far, and are venting their grievances publicly and in private.

Man United have won just two of their 11 games across all competitions so far this season, and with Carrick coming under increasing threat of the sack, his players could force a decision.
