Manuel Lanzini delivers Instagram verdict after West Ham draw v West Brom

By Danny Wright

Manuel Lanzini took to Instagram on Saturday evening to deliver a message to the West Ham supporters.

The Argentine praised his team for a great performance in their four-goal draw with West Bromwich Albion at the London Stadium.

The Baggies took the lead in the sixth minute through Nacer Chadli. However Sofiane Feghouli equalised for Slaven Bilic’s side before Lanzini put his side ahead with just minutes to spare with a thunderbolt from the edge of the area, which left goalkeeper Ben Foster rooted to the spot.

A last gasp goal from Albion meant the game would end 2-2, but Lanzini praised the way his team played on his personal Instagram page.

“Good game, we play very well,” he said. “Unfortunately we dropped points but we have to carry on playing this way.”

The 23-year-old’s strike was his fifth of the season in 22 Premier League games and he was back in the starting line-up on Saturday after being dropped to the bench against Southampton the week before.

West Ham’s failure to win saw them slip to 10th in the league standings after Stoke beat Crystal Palace, and they failed to make up any ground against Tony Pulis’ side who were just one place above them at the start of the game.

Lanzini and his colleagues will now have to wait until February 25 before playing again when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.

Andy Carroll missed the West Brom game after not training because of a groin injury but is expected to be back for this game.

In other West Ham news, David Gold says these three players should earn an England call-up.
