Marc Cucurella shares Chelsea training ground update pre-Tottenham clash

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has taken to social media to share a training ground update ahead of their game with rivals Tottenham on Sunday (December 8).

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key player under new manager Enzo Maresca, starting 13 of his 15 appearances across all competitions, yielding a total of 1179 minutes of action.

Cucurella was the victim of Jack Stephans’ madness in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday (December 4) after the Saints captain yanked the Spain international’s hair.

The West London club are flying under Maresca, sitting in second, seven points behind league leaders Liverpool, with 28 from their first 14 games.

Dean Huijsen’s looping header further dented Spurs’ hopes of Champions League qualification as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in midweek.

Tottenham go into the home game against Chelsea with just one win from their last five games, both domestically and in Europe.

Ange Potecoglu’s side have been consistently inconsistent so far this season, sitting in 10th in six wins, two draws, and six defeats from their 14 games.

Cucurella and his teammates will no doubt be determined to compound the misery upon their rivals, with the left-back taking to Instagram to share a training ground image alongside Enzo Fernandez and Marc Guiu.

Maresca’s side have a comparatively easy run of fixtures compared to their North London counterparts, who face Man United and Liverpool within their next five games.

Chelsea have a grueling trip to Kazakhstan on Thursday (December 12) as they take on FC Astana in the Europa Conference League.
